Phyllis loved to cook for her family, play with her great-grandchildren, feed and watch the birds and squirrels in her backyard and read her Bible.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband James “Red” Thomas, and her sons James Blair Thomas and Kenneth Eugene Thomas.
She is survived by her daughters Teresa Ann Rogers, Lisa Zell Parker (Pat), Leslie Dawn Thomas, Jessica Kristine Thomas (Blake), her grandchildren Bradley Ledford, Haley Vasbinder, Breanna Thomas, Amy Rogers, Carol Ann Rogers, Amanda Thomas, Layton Clemons, Tyler Teague, Troy Teague, Alexis Downs, Lucas Blalock, Noah Jolly, and Noelle Jolly. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her beloved Chihuahua Princess.
Our Mother died by faith, in Christ. We have lost a praying mother, but we have not lost her prayers. Parents that leave behind a treasury of prayers is far better than a treasury of gold and silver. We have been blessed in this way as children more than almost anyone else we know on this earth. What a treasury is laid up and in store for us of all the prayers our Mother prayed. And that is the tremendous legacy of faith and the responsibility she has now left to us as her children.
