Peggy Jean (Pickelsimer) Flowers, 84, of Gastonia passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday April 12, 2022. Professionally, Peggy worked for Mary Jo’s Fabric. She was a great seamstress and she even enjoyed quilting. Peggy was not shy and she regularly spoke her mind. She had a strong will. She enjoyed the beach and boating. She identified as a Christian and she regularly attended Gateway Cowboy Church. Peggy was family oriented and she loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even a great-great grandchild. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Peggy is the daughter of the late Beulah (Jones) and Floyd Pickelsimer. Peggy was widowed in 2019. She lost the love of her life, Charles Milton Flowers, after 64 years of marriage. Her daughters, Teresa Hargett and Wanda “Sue” Stone also precede her in death.
Left to cherish their memories of Peggy and to carry on her legacy are her daughters, Alicia Albright and her husband Gregg and Denise Kennedy and her husband Keith and her son, Gary “Dean” Flowers and his wife Patricia. Peggy leaves behind eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Her brothers, Jerry Pickelsimer and his wife Pauline and Glenn Pickelsimer and his wife Kinza are also left grieving the loss of their sister.
