John proudly served his Country in The United States Army. He owned and operated BJ's Motors/Edgewood Shell until his retirement where upon he enjoyed tinkering with his early model trucks, spending time with his Family, and gardening - he loved planting and growing vegetables for his family and friends.
He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend. John is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Angel Malsun Riggan, his 3 daughters Tina Riggan, Penny Riggan, and Ann Riggan, 3 Grandchildren that he adored, Garrett Lowery, Hannah Patton and Trinity Gray, Brothers James and Charles Riggan and their families, and Sister Teresa Jaynes. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald and Margaret Riggan, Brother Michael Riggan, and Son In Law Donnie Lowery.

Per John's request, a formal service will not be held - he wanted to be remembered with laughter, not tears. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.
