Joe Brackett is a locally well-known doctorial scholar on faith, worldviews, and Biblical teachings. He has also served as a Sunday school teacher, Sunday school director, deacon, elder, school teacher, and principal of a Christian school. Joe also served in the United States Air Force as a meteorologist where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant.
Joe passed peacefully in his home on November 18, 2024 in Charlotte, NC at the age of 72.
Joe is preceded in death by his father Jesse Escoe Brackett Jr, his mother Mary Lou Workman Brackett, and his sister Betty Jean Brackett Cloninger.
He is survived by his wife, Dianne Massengale Brackett, his brother, Bill Brackett (Celeste), his sisters: Bobbie Pressley, Terri Brackett Seagle, and Karen Brackett, his sons: Joe Brackett (Merrily), Jesse Brackett, and BJ McGraw (Melissa), his daughters: Scottlin Black (Travis), and Deenie Ferrell; his grandkids: Anthony Smith, Landyn Fassett, Tyler Faulkner, Cole Brackett, Josh Brackett (Kate), Lily Ferrell, Jacob Brackett, Cameron Black, Elijah McGraw, Ellie McGraw (Justin), Charli Black and Bentli Jo Black; his great grandkids: Maverick Smith, Kyson Brackett, and Josephine Smith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Brackett family will greet friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Sunday, the 24th of November, 2024 in Cardinal Hall of Carothers Funeral Home at Gaston Memorial Park. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM and burial with military honors in Gaston Memorial Park.
