Eunice Darlene Martin

Eunice Darlene (Collett) Martin, 81, of Dallas passed away Friday June 2, 2017. Eunice was a long-time resident of Dallas. She was a proud mother to three sons and a loving grandmother to four grandchildren.

Eunice loved spending time with friends and was a lifelong friend to many.

Eunice is the daughter of the late Hester (Powers) Collett and Grover Collett. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years – William “Bill” Ray Martin. One brother; Harry Collet and three sisters; Mildred Moore, Frances Barker and Dorothy Creasman also proceeded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons; Todd Martin (Cindy), Brian Martin and Doug Martin (Cheri). She also leaves behind two sisters: Evelyn Carpenter and Joyce Painter (Carl) and a sister-in-law Ann Collett. Many nieces and nephews will miss their aunt Doodle. Her grandchildren: Reed, Emma, Sophie and Alex will also greatly miss their Nana.

A celebration of Eunice’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday June 8, 2017 at Carothers Funeral Home Chapel, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia. Words of prayer, hope and encouragement will be offered to friends and family who gather to remember Eunice. Eunice’s nephews will act as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Committal will occur after the service in the Garden of Prayer at Gaston Memorial Park.
