Edith Groves

A native of Cedartown, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William Seals and Mary Gertrude Cox Watson.

Edith was baptized at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Cedartown, Georgia. She was retired from Firestone Textiles, Gastonia, North Carolina.

She is survived by her son, Ralph McAllister and wife Donna; daughters, Wanda McAllister and Carol Kimsey; sisters, Malline Burnette, Irene Ozment; granddaughters, Lesley Johnson, Melissa Terry, Ginger Hayman, Beth Kimsey, Lori Kimsey; three step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and 14 step great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Howard Groves; brother, Paul Watson; and sister, Alberta Evans.

Burial will be private.
