Doris owned Prince of Peace a Christian Bookstore for over ten years. She was a devoted mother who was known for making the best sandwiches, being resourceful and helping her sons in being creative in every way such as the Red, White and Blue Ambulance that was known from New York to New Jersey. Doris rescued stray cats which became a part of her family and she took care of them for 20 plus years.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 65 years, Ralph Thomas; children, Gary Thomas and Glenn Thomas; and sister, Arlene Attanaso.
She is survived by her son, Carl Thomas and wife Sherry; grandchildren, Carson Thomas and girlfriend Lauren Schrumpf (best girl ever), Heather Brackeen and husband Stephen, and Hannah Haggard and husband Josh, Thomas J. Thomas and Angela Thomas; and great grandchildren, Naomi, Noah, Nathaniel Brackeen, Cameron and Palin Haggard.
A special thanks to her niece, Lynne Attanaso who called her every Sunday and her Jersey Girls, Sarah Walsh, Connie Hildebrandt, Irene Cummings and Brooke Cummings who checked in on her all the time.
A private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation In Memory of Doris to a charity of your choice.
