Alice Faye Mason

Alice Faye Mason, age 69, of Gastonia, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was born in Murphy, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Clayton and Adell Harris Brown.

Mrs. Mason was a devoted wife of 52 years and a loving mother and grandmother. She retired from TiCaro Textiles Company and attended Faith and Praise Assembly Church, Ranlo.

Mrs. Mason is survived by her husband of 52 years, Charles Mason; two daughters, Marie Dunn and husband James, Carolyn Cook and husband Rev. Jeff Cook of Gastonia; two sons, David Eugene Mason and wife Florence, Lester Mason and fiancé, Karla Clark of Gastonia; two brothers, her twin brother, Lewis Brown and wife Brenda of Gastonia, Keith Brown and wife Margaret of Clover; five sisters, Margaret Walker, Pat Capps, Shirley Ghantt Cooper of Gastonia, Madelyn Rose, Mary Graves of Murphy; five grandchildren, Allison Dunn, Mary Goodson, Amanda Mason, David A. Mason, Faith Cook; one great grandson, Aaron Goodson.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday at Carothers Funeral Home, Gastonia.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p. m. Friday at The Colonial Chapel of Carothers Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Cook and Pastor Marie Dunn officiating.

Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Mrs. Mason was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James Brown, C. J. Brown, DeWitt Brown; one sister, Frances Walters.
