Alice Faye Bridges Guy

A strong and independent woman best describes Alice Faye Bridges Guy who passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016. She was born August 23, 1943 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Forrest Herod Bridges and Marcella (Marshall) Bridges. Alice will always be remembered by her family as a loving “Grammy” and a great cook. She loved golf, softball, bowling and most importantly the Atlanta Braves. Alice was an active member at Grace Baptist Church and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left behind to cherish her memory is her son, Jerry Guy, his wife Angie and three beautiful grandchildren, Mitchell, Allie and Sarah Guy of Gastonia; sister, Susan Harrill, brothers, Charles, Ken and Roger Bridges; a host of nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by one grandson, Braxton Guy and two brothers, Robert and John Bridges.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Flint Groves Baptist Church, 2017 Ozark Avenue Gastonia, North Carolina 28054

Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery 1462 Armstrong Ford Road Belmont, North Carolina 28012.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Braxton Guy Orphan Fund, c/o Flint Groves Baptist Church, 2017 East Ozark Gastonia NC 28054.
