Steve was a year ahead of me at GHS. I knew him just a little. Got to know him these last years through Facebook and from our 1973 Class Reunions and through Millie. Steve was such an incredibly nice and kind guy. 
I would see Steve out in the Community and we would chat for a few minutes. It was evident how much Steve loved the Lord, Millie, his Daughters, and his Friends. He left this World too soon. I cannot imagine how much his Family grieves and misses him. Praying for them all. Thankful we will see him again.

May God bless and comfort Steve’s family.  He was a good guy and will be missed. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

My thoughts and prayers are with the Johnson family at this sad time.  
Steve was such a sincerely nice man.  Enjoyed working with him in various areas of Human Resources.  His fish stories would keep us all entertained.  One of my favorites is when he and his brother (or may have been a friend) were putting the boat up after a day of fishing and the fish hook got caught in his leg.  Everything they tried seemed to go from bad to worst.  Also loved the story of his encounter with the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile!
The world will miss him!

Steve was a genuine friend. He was always laughing and had a very positive personality. He was committed to his wife, his family, and his friends. I loved spending time with Steve, playing softball, attending Auburn football games, and at work. We will miss you Tater Head!!!

I was blessed to work with Steve.  He welcomed me into the Concerns Department of Alabama Power as if I was an old friend and we had known each other for years.  He became just that and more.  A friend, mentor, and confidant.  I know Millie, Krystal and Kellie as well as an entire host of family and friends will miss him dearly.  Steve had a way of making everyone's day brighter just by talking with him.  May God bless his family and those of us who came to know and think of him as family.

I had the honor of working with Steve in the Alabama Power Company’s  Concerns Program.  When thinking about Steve now, I can picture his smile, hear his laugh, and remember the funny way he could tell a story.  I also remember how much he loved his wife, daughters, and his parents.  I am thankful that I had the privilege of working with him.  My prayers are for comfort to surround his family in the days, weeks and months ahead.

Steve was a Classmate in Fultondale Jr High. His academics coupled with athletic abilities and popularity was Amazing! What I recall most is dispite this he was Always kind to everyone. He never succumbed to bullieism with better than thou attitude like so many others did. RIP Steve

I first met Steve in August 1981. We were hired by Alabama Power on the same day and were the only two new employees in the orientation session. We hit it off immediately since we also both attended Gardendale High School. We joked through the years about what a dynamite recruiting class that was and even poked each other about who had the most “seniority.” He was a fantastic guy, always down to earth and a truly great friend.

I loved working with Steve at Alabama Power. His stories about his beloved daughters were so entertaining. He loved Millie so much that he ate lunch with her everyday. 

Steve made work fun. Unfortunately, he and I got tickled over the same things and would laugh so hard that tears rolled down our faces. And, of course, this happened at inappropriate times and we couldn't stop. 

I always thought the Johnson family must have the most fun household seeing Steve's sense of humor and watching how Krystal, Kellie, and Millie teased him. 

Steve's joy and laughter will be missed. I am so sorry and am praying for his wonderful family members.

I miss you Steve! Best fishing buddy I ever had. Great family man who really adored his daughters. RIP Steve

I was fortunate to work with Steve at Stockham Valves & Fittings and at Alabama Power.  He was a valued employee to both companies.  It was a pleasure to work with Steve.  
Steve could recount an event and make the retelling of it hilarious.  What a special personality Steve had.  
Steve was memorable in so many ways and I will always remember Steve for his positive impact on those with whom he came in contact.  
My prayers are with Millie, Krystal and Kellie.

Thanks Steve Johnson , for being a great young man , who befriended me and my brother , Benny Howell , when we first started the 10th grade.  September 1969 , Steve  from Fultondale  , Al and my brother and I from Morgan County, Alabama started school at Gardendale.  We struck up a friendship with Steve . We did not know anybody at  our new school , but Steve being a really great young man ,  was so nice  , he became our friend. He made us feel welcomed to Gardendale. I had the pleasure of working with Steve Johnson in his roles at Alabama Power Company.  Steve was very dedicated to his work but always displayed a proper balancing of work to life.  He was great at his various jobs.  Always a smiling face and kind soul.
