Stanley Howard Sheffield

Stan always made sure we were all weather aware. The whole family knew exactly when to drip our faucets or prepare for bad storms. His dedication to keeping us all safe earned him the loving nickname, “Stan Spann.” He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and making the people around him laugh with his infectious sense of humor. He cherished time spent with family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Sheffield; his children, Ley Sheffield (Olivia), Lauryn McClendon (Cory), and Davis Sheffield (Haley); his mother, Barbara Sheffield; his father-in-law, Raymond Williams; his mother-in-law, Barbara Williams; his sister, Kristy Sheffield; and his beloved grandchildren, Jeremiah & Wiley McClendon, and Sadie & Garrett Sheffield. Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 10 AM to 12 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12 PM. Interment will take place at 2:45 PM at Alabama National Cemetery.

Stan will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will always remember him for his sense of humor and unwavering love.
