Shirley A. Hicks

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Newell and Virginia Butler; her brother, Gene Butler; and her sister, Faye McCombs.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Roger Lee Hicks; her brother, Michael Butler; her son, Gregory Hicks; her daughter, Cindy Keyes; her grandchildren, Kalah Hicks, Kasey Hicks, Erin Keyes, Amanda Rice, and Candace Pugh; 8 great-grandchildren; and her puppy, Lily.

Shirley spent her career in banking; she retired from AmSouth (now Regions) as Vice President after 42 years in the industry.

Shirley was a beautiful lady who walked through life with exceptional joy. She was adored by everyone who knew her and will be remembered for her kindness, empathy, and grace. Her family will forever hold her close in their minds and spirits.

Services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, Alabama 35071. A time of visitation will begin at 1:00pm; funeral service at 2:00pm. She will be laid to rest in Oakwood Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum, Gardendale, Alabama.
