A resident of Mt. Olive, AL was born to the late O.V. and Thelma Thorn and passed at Friday at the age of 87. Shirley was a lifelong member of the Mt. Olive Church of Christ, a loving and kind woman who spent her life serving and doing good things for others. She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Dick Bowen; a son, Rick Bowen (Cassondra); grandchildren, Lacey Bowen and Austin Bowen and a host of friends.
A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 5 until 7 pm with a funeral service on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
