Robert Lee Reeves, age 88, of Fultondale, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 28, 2024. He was born to the late Curtis and Elizabeth Reeves on May 28, 1935. Robert was a long standing member of Fultondale First Baptist Church and American Legion Post 255.
Mr. Reeves spent his career owning several businesses as a mechanic and serving as the fleet mechanic for Frito Lay for nine years. He was also a truck driver, traveling to 48 states and Canada; as he would say, “Seeing the country through that big windshield.” He did not fully retire until he was 84 years old when his health began to decline.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Sue Wilson Reeves; his daughters, Teresa and Donald Evans, and Robbie Harper; his grandchildren, David and Jennifer Harper, Daniel Harper, Stacy and Brian Mikes, and Kaitlyn and Keaton Harper; her great grandchildren, Hunter Harper, Karter Harper, Hannah Harper, Blair Mikes, Mallory Mikes, and Tatum Scruggs; his brother, Phillip Reeves; his sisters Peggy Tanner, and Ann King; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM with burial at Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
Daniel Harper, David Harper, Hunter Harper, Skylar Reeves, Keaten Scruggs, and Kenneth Tanner will serve as pallbearers.
