Ora Faye Mayfield, age 74 was a resident of Gardendale, AL for more than 55 years. She was born in Trafford, AL and was a 1960 graduate of Warrior High School. She retired from Norwood Clinic in Birmingham in 1999 and then spent the next 12 years working part time cooking for the White House Resturaunt in Warrior. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Emogene Doss; and a brother, Ernest Gene. She is survived by her husband of 51 years (Nov. 28th, 1964), Carl Mayfield; her son, Keith Mayfield and his wife, Lori; grandchildren, Trent Mayfield and Karlee Mayfield; her twin sister, Dora Mae Thomas (Fred) and sister, Linda Gayle Robinson; brother, Fred McKinney; a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, February 17th from 5 until 8 PM at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel followed by chapel services Thursday beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
