To celebrate Margie’s life, the family will receive visitors on Wednesday, November 30, at 1:00 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel. A memorial service at 2:00 will be officiated by Hugh Richardson, Jr. Interment will follow at Oakwood Memorial Cemetery, adjoining the chapel.
Preceding Margie in death were her parents, Albert Rhein and Margaret Arndt Rhein; sister, Rosemary Stoudt; brothers, James “Jim” Rhein and Thomas “Tom” Rhein.
Margie was born June 29, 1938, in Evanston, Illinois, where she grew up. After graduating from Maryville Academy, she soon moved to Alabama, spending many years as a resident of Tarrant before settling in Gardendale. There she was a member of Pineywood Baptist Church.
Margie’s personality and character were the embodiment of the fruit of the Spirit, “love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” as defined in Galatians 5:22-23.
Many family members, friends and acquaintances will recall receiving greeting cards from Margie for many different occasions. She wanted people to know they were cared for and being thought about. She spent many hours at the Hallmark shop looking for cards with the perfect sentiments for each person, and she cared enough to send the very best.
In 1993, Margie began the most joyful chapter in her life when she married Warren T. Richardson, Jr. He survives her to cherish countless happy memories of their life together. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, eating at restaurants and the company of friends and family. Most of all, they enjoyed companionship with each other.
Also surviving Margie are her sons, who were her first great joy, John Jenkins (Anita) of Cullman and Jeff Jenkins (Cindie), of Trussville. John and Jeff gifted her with grandchildren, Mark Dewayne Jenkins (Nicole), John Nathan Jenkins (Kristina), Jennie Jenkins Fitz-Gerald (Jay), and Jessica Jenkins. Margie’s blessings continued with great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Jenkins, Johnathan Jenkins, Allison “Allie” Jenkins, and Amelia Jenkins. Surviving siblings are Albert “Bert” Rhein of Denver, Colorado and Dolores McCaughey of Hemet, California.
