Linda Barnett Smith

Linda Barnett Smith lost her battle to cancer on February 20, 2019. After a four year battle of strength and courage she is completely healed and in the arms of her savior. The viewing will be on Friday, February 22nd from 5:30-8:00 PM and her celebration of life will be on Saturday, February 23rd at 11:00 AM at Ridout’s, 2100 Moncrief Rd, Gardendale, AL 35071.

Linda was born on October 31, 1945 in Birmingham, Alabama to J.B. and Louis Barnett. She was happily married to her soul mate Lloyd ‘Bully’ Smith and had two beautiful children Lloyd Wayne and Sherrie Lynn. Besides being a loving wife and mother she was a dedicated caregiver to special needs children for Jefferson County afterschool services. She was an amazing cook but an even better friend. She was well loved by all.

She is preceded in death by her spouse of 47 years Lloyd “Bully” Smith, her parents J.B. Barnett and Louis Borden (Barnett), and her brother Mike Barnett. She is survived by her children Lloyd Wayne Smith (Lisa Smith), Sherrie Lynn Findley (Neisey Findley), and grandchildren, Tiffiny Borden (Phillip Borden), Nicholas ‘Nick’ Alvis (Lena Alvis), Shelby Smith, Kassy Smith, Holly Smith, and Step-Grandchildren, Brandy McCarty (Lori McCarty), Austin Murphey, Lexie McCay (Hunter McCay) and Great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Cole, Trace Alvis, Alexis ‘LuLu’ Alvis, Evie Martin, Shyloh Smith , Harper Sweatt , Zeke Borden, Arianna McCarty and five siblings, Brenda Cagle, Johnny Barnett, Tony Barnett, Tim Ellis, and Jinnie Borden.
