John R. Godwin

Randy retired from ACIPCO after 43 yers of service. He was a faithful member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon Methodist Church and he loved attending the Ambassador Sunday School class. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and he cherished his family.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Earnie and Marguerite Godwin and a son-in-law, Mike Phillips.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, JoAnn Godwin; one son, John "Randy" Godwin, Jr. (Anita); one daughter, LuAnn Phillips; one brother, Alan Godwin; one sister, Ernestine "Tenny" Barron (Bill); five grandchildren, Tara Long (Robert), Shannon Erwin (Will), Jennifer Collins (Jason), Jason Phillips (Erica) and Christy Hollis (Chris); 11 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.

Services for Randy will be held Monday, March 20, 2023 at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071, with a time of visitation to begin at 10:00 AM; followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.

Randy will be laid to rest in Moncrief Cemetery, Gardendale, AL.
