Janice Goodwin

Janice Goodwin, age 81, originally of Warrior, Alabama passed away November 3rd, 2020. She was first and foremost a servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For many years she served faithfully in every capacity that she could as a member of Hughes Memorial Baptist Church and before that Calvary Baptist Church. She constantly thought of others, seeking out ways to serve, provide for, and minister to, most often through her passion for cooking. She was never lacking a pound cake, peanut brittle, pecan pie, or pan of lasagna for those who needed it. Even in her worst of times she would put others first, asking about friends and loved ones who were going through tough times. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Bertha Hill Cruce, infant son David Lee Goodwin, brother Joe Cruce and sister Bobbie Sue Cruce. Survivors include her husband, Wayne Goodwin of Birmingham, Al., son Jeff (Barbara) Goodwin of Springville, Al., brother Sammy (Myrle) Cruce of Birmingham, Al., sister Sherry Harper of Marietta, Ga., granddaughters Danielle Goodwin Ray (Patrick) of Trussville, Al., Hannah Goodwin of Springville, Al., grandson Nathaniel Goodwin of Springville, Al., and great-grandson Judah Ray of Trussville, Al. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7th, 2020 at Ridout’s Gardendale with Bro. Greg Lindsey officiating. Family visitation will be held from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m., public visitation from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Graveside service and burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Warrior, Al.
