Helen Irene Pennington

She is survived by children John Pennington (Melody), Mikel Pennington (Patsy) and Carol Pennington Lyon (Brad); grandchildren Callie Pennington Shown (Robert), Mallory Pennington Clayton (Morgan), Kathryn Pennington, Kyle Adams, Cassie Pennington, Wesley Pennington, Kayla Lyon; great grandchildren Ollie Shown, Brianna Shown, Scarlett Clayton and Bennett Clayton.

Helen was a member of Hayden First Baptist Church and was active for many years in the ladies ministry. She became a follower of Jesus at 16 during a tent revival and loved Jesus above all others. She taught Sunday School for many years and was a prayer warrior for so many. She was a devoted wife and mother and deeply loved her family and friends. She often showed her love through cooking meals or making her famous chocolate drop cookies to share. She loved playing Skip-Bo and laughing with her friends. Helen played piano beautifully and loved to play hymns and sing praise to the Lord. She was loved by her friends and family and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at Hayden First Baptist Church on Friday, December 13 at 11:00 AM with a brief visitation period beginning at 10:30 AM. She will be buried at Oakwood Memorial Gardens in a private ceremony.
