Gail Tolbert

Gail Louise Motte Tolbert, of Hayden, AL was born July 7th, 1941 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 8, 2017. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Gail; was a lifetime member of Mt View Baptist church. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Vernon Motte; a son, Michael Ray Tolbert; sisters, Ruby Jean Pugh, Viola Creel, and Kathleen Armstrong; brothers, Melvin Motte, George Motte, Ed Motte, and James Motte. Gail is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Clayton Tolbert; a daughter, JoAnn Tolbert (Lynn); a son, Larry Tolbert (Jo), brother, Frank Motte (Shelvia); grandchildren, Tonya Von Hagel (Stephen), Joanna Hale (“Bo”), and Victoria Tolbert; great grandchildren, Maggie, Caroline, Mary Alice Von Hagel, and Eli Hale; a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church at 12Noon with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Dr. Sammie Reid. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Brenda Barnett, Rhonda Thomas, Sara Todd, and to St. Vincent’s Home Health and Hospice for their loving care.
