Davis Nichols "Nicky" Osborn

October 6th, 1946 – November 20th, 2022

Davis Nichols Osborn passed away on November 20th, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. Known to everyone by his nickname, Nicky, he is the son of Oscar Davis Osborn & Marie Nichols Osborn. Nicky graduated from Brookwood High School and went on to complete his education at the University of West Alabama in Livingston, AL where he was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and even served as their archivist his senior year of college. Nicky had a long career as a coal miner and then went into excavating in his later years. He loved to ‘dig in the dirt’ as he always stated proudly. Nicky was a proud member of the Gardendale community where he ran his business and never met a stranger when he was out and about. Nicky is survived by his youngest daughter, Ann Marie McWhorter (Osborn) (Scott), and his two grandchildren Demi Shea Mullins, and Cohen Nichols Hopper. He is predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Abel Osborn; his mother, Marie Nichols Osborn; his father, Oscar Davis Osborn; his brothers Edward & Clarence ‘Buster’ Osborn; and his two eldest daughters, Leah Nicole Osborn & Shea McCall Osborn (Mullins). A celebration of life will be held at Ridout’s Funeral Home in Gardendale, AL (2029 Decatur Highway, 35071) at 2 PM on December 4th, 2022.
