Clyde Cox, Jr, of Kimberly, Alabama, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2022 at the age of 91 surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Cox was born on October 28, 1930 in Forsyth, Georgia and moved to Alabama as a young man. He joined the Church of God in 1946 and attended Christway Church of God in Gardendale, faithfully serving as Treasurer and a member of the Pastor's Council. Clyde worked at Hayes Targets Division of PEMCO over 40 years becoming Director of Manufacturing, working on projects such as the Redstone, Saturn, Pershing, and Minuteman missile training systems and modifying B-25 and B-50 aircraft.
Mr. Cox was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved to spend time with his family, traveling, camping, and tinkering on various projects. Most of all, he was a faithful servant of God. He is survived by his daughters Cynthia Salters (Dan) and Karen Salters (Ron); Granddaughters Jennifer Bryant and April Cain (Anthony); Great Grandchildren McKenzie Bryant, Zack Bryant, Landon Cain and Logan Cain; Brothers Curtis and Cecil Cox and sister Charlotte Bryant of South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Jo (Josephine) Vance Cox, his mother and father Rev. Clyde C. Cox, Sr. and Claudia Coulon Cox, and his grandparents Marion & Amanda Coulon and Rev. William E. Cox & Mary Frances of Georgia.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, Alabama alongside his loving wife, Jo.
