Billie N. Smith

Billie Nell Smith was born March 8th, 1935 in Pinson, Alabama and passed away September 23rd, 2022. She was known as Ninie to all the grandchildren and their many friends, who loved visiting with her.

She was raised in the Pinson, Trafford, and Warrior area. She later lived in Mt Olive and Gardendale areas until her death. She is preceded in death by her father, Connie Melvin, mother, Cora Skaggs Melvin, son, Jimmy Foster, and husband, Bill Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie Chapple (Donnie); sister, Linda Fowler (Ronald), brother, Ollen Melvin (Evelyn); granddaughter, Jennifer Batchelor (David), grandsons, Keith Chapple (Cindy) and Kevin Chapple (Emily); great grandchildren, Jamie Leake, Braden Chapple, Cade Chapple, Jaycee Batchelor, Jeremiah Chapple, Dillan Chapple, Kynzlee Leake, Miranda Batchelor, and many nieces and nephews. She was very much loved by all and will be greatly missed. She was one of a kind.

A special thank you to Hope Hospice, and especially to Michelle and all the other nurses and aids, who took great care of Billie in her final days.”

A visitation for Billie will be held Sunday, September 25, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, AL 35071. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 26, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel.
