Betty Hayes "Becky" Riggs

May 1, 1946-August 6, 2021

Surrounded by her family, Betty (Becky) Riggs was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 6, 2021. Becky was born on May 1, 1946 to Alton “Buster” and Mabel Hayes. She grew up in Adamsville, Alabama and graduated from Minor High School.

On October 29, 1965, Becky married her husband Bobby and began a 56 year long adventure of a lifetime. Together, they raised two children and were blessed with four beloved granddaughters. Becky loved serving at church. On any given Sunday, you could catch her either singing in the choir, teaching the youth or decorating the church alter. She also enjoyed doing crafts, going out for Mexican food, playing games with her granddaughters, or sipping coffee on her back porch. She loved her family and was fiercely protective of those she cared for.

Becky is survived by her husband Bobby, her daughter Michelle and her husband Max, her son Bobby and his wife Susan, four granddaughters: Caroline, Isabel, Catherine and Abigail, four sisters and a host of nephews and nieces.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:00am followed by the service at 11:00am. Service will be held at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy. Gardendale, AL 35071.
