Betty Childers Hampton

Betty Childers Hampton of Morris, AL passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017 at the age of 83. Betty was a graduate of Warrior High School. She retired from the University of Florida where she served in administration for many years. Betty was a very loving person who cared for her family beyond measure. She was always so very thoughtful of others and she loved her God. She lived most of her life in Florida and loved retiring back home to Morris, AL for the past 3 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion H. Childers and Nellie “Dollie” Reno Childers; brothers, Onnie Childers, Kenneth Childers, and Bill R. Childers; sisters, Sibyl Compton, Nell Burns, and Barbara Tolbert. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Bhurrel Hampton; brothers, Marshall Childers (Bonnie) and Charles Childers; and her sister, Ruby Nabors (JR); and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly as her own.

A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, October 19th at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel from 6 until 8 PM followed by Chapel services on Friday beginning at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL at 2 PM.
