Jerry Duverne, lovingly known as Boston, was the cherished firstborn of Louis and Lormina Dauphin. Born on November 27th, 1980 in Miami, Florida, Jerry was a beacon of strength and responsibility from a young age. He was raised in Brookline, Massachusetts with his beloved siblings Stanley, Abe, Sophia, Keshia, and Louis Jr. They would be the first to experience the deep and true love that was at Jerry’s center. Not to say they didn’t fight, but they truly loved each other. They especially loved their Haitian history and mom’s soup on New Year's.
Early in life, Jerry developed a passion for sports. Whether he was hitting people on the gridiron or watching the Patriots win titles, Jerry loved the game. He appreciated the discipline. The hard work. The accountability. These were the core values that Jerry learned early in life and took with him forever. At 20, Jerry moved to Cerritos, California, where he began his studies at Cerritos Junior College. Soon after, he transferred to Fullerton Junior College, where he continued to pursue his passion for football. It was there that he earned the nickname “Boston,” a name that has lovingly stayed with him ever since. During these formative years, Jerry forged friendships that would last a lifetime, friends who became like family to him. It was also during this time that he met the love of his life, Marina Duverne (formerly Perez), beginning a beautiful story that would shape the rest of his life. Together they would be blessed to welcome four children Dominic, Brooklyn, Bryson, and Neveyah, who were truly the center of his world. Jerry lived to love and protect his family ferociously and anyone who knew Jerry knew the true joy they brought him.
Jerry was a remarkable man with a true passion for his work as a mechanical engineer at ThinKom. Each day, he went to work with purpose and pride, dedicating himself to the craft he loved. Jerry was known for his tireless work ethic and unwavering determination—qualities that defined his character and made him a trusted, respected figure in the field. ThinKom held a special place in his heart.
Jerry was a man of passion and vigor. He lived life to the fullest. Whether it was conquering a whole new coast, buying his own home, or sending his baby off to college, he did it all. And he did it all with that big Jerry smile, a smile that lit up a room. In true Jerry fashion, he fought his cancer valiantly and was never defeated. He passed into eternity on November 7th, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Jerry’s spirit remains unbroken and lives on in us all.
