Dean Kenneth Steinke passed away on November 11, 2024. Dean is survived by his wife, Elisa Hoffman, his 2 brothers, Donald Steinke (wife Nuala) and Dick Steinke (wife Betty), his 4 children Tonia Leonardos (husband Nick and grandchildren Tobias and Kallista), Kevin Steinke (wife Kelly and grandchildren Rachel and Jon), Calvin Steinke (wife Elizabeth and grandchildren Aidan and Ryan) and Kari Beavers (husband Bryan).
Dean was born in Jefferson, Wisconsin on August 23, 1935 to parents Myrtle Horn Steinke and Alvin Steinke of Jefferson Wisconsin. Dean was the middle son of three boys. He moved to California in the late 1950’s and lived in Redondo Beach to seek his fortune out west. He married Emily Sigurdson in June 1960 and started a family in Torrance Ca. Emily passed away in 2000. Dean was blessed and married Elisa Hoffman and they had over 20 wonder years together.
Dean had a full and active life working as an insurance broker for Sentry Insurance and then starting his own brokerage firm (JD Insurance Services). Dean was involved in his community in San Juan Capistrano at Village San Juan as the president of the association for many years where he was honored with a local park named after him.
Dean loved to travel and go on cruises and was able to enjoy many trips with his wife Elisa. Some of his favorite destinations were Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. Dean also loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Dean battled heart disease for many years, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. (Please see link below)
Dean will have a private celebration of life in December.
