

Wanda L. Kennedy, 89, of Reynoldsburg, OH, passed away on April 16, 2025. She was born on December 31, 1935, to Samuel Blaine Murphy and Florence (Lester) Murphy in Iaeger, West Virginia. She worked for 20-plus years for MRDD as an assistant teacher. She was a longtime member of Jersey Church, attending services and contributing to the bereavement ministry for over 30 years, providing chicken and dumplings, potato salad, and her “famous” homegrown, home-canned green beans. She always enjoyed gardening, a hobby she shared with her husband Wayne. She was an expert canner, and if you asked her family, “no one could cook like mom!” Wanda was a snowbird, enjoying her many winter trips to Florida to camp.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Wayne Wetzel Kennedy; her parents; her older brother Donald Murphy and younger brother Verlon “Buddy” Murphy.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Michael B. Kennedy (Kay); Jeffrey W. Kennedy; daughter Nancy D. Kennedy-Lively (Zach); granddaughter Aimee Brown Arendes; and many other loved family members and friends.
Visitation will take place at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 23, from 11am – 12pm, with Wanda’s funeral service immediately following at 12pm. Pastor Phil Duncan, officiating. Services will conclude with interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates.
