Virginia “Ginny” Louise Dailey, nee Dixon- age 80, of Groveport, Ohio died peacefully at home in the loving arms of her husband, Duane. She was a fighter and a true medical miracle persevering through numerous years of physical complications with never a complaint and always a smile on her face.
Born on October 13, 1942 in Pataskala, Ohio she was preceded in death by her parents, William and Victoria Dixon, siblings Joe, Bill, Mary, Vicki & Betty; and most recently her grandson in law, Tate Wenck.
Survived by her husband of 59 years, Duane; Children Debbie(Andy) Dreier, Susie(Michael) Paul and Stephanie(Jim) D’Amico. 7 grandchildren, Justin(Aubri) Dreier; Amanda (Mike) Willing; Chelsea (Aaron) Coleman; Trista Wenck, Jessie (Michael) Tompkins, Jimmy (Aspen) D’Amico and Jacob Miller; and 8 great grandchildren, Liam Martinez, Clara, Lilly, Freya & Athena Coleman, Valerie Tompkins and 2 on the way. Siblings: Rita, Flo, Bob, Rosie and numerous nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, she was known for her generous spirit and as a supportive wife and mother, aka Super Trooper. Her smile could light up a room and her hands were the softest anywhere. She was introduced to Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) in 1974, and together with Duane founded the Southeast Breakfast Group where they sponsored and supported countless friends through their 49 years of sobriety. Ginny was always very giving of her time sewing costumes for entire dance teams, volunteering wherever possible as uniform mom or hostessing numerous special occasions. She loved supporting her daughters and husband in all of their endeavors and continued for her grandchildren. She and Duane attended every possible performance, game, fundraiser or event; rain or shine.
She was the epitome of living the Beatitudes and putting others first. Duane affectionately referred to her as his “AAA” lady, Amazing, Adorable & Awesome. She managed all of this in addition to working full time and ultimately retiring from Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric/ATT) after 30 years of service. Truly a tiny but mighty woman that honored God and her Catholic Faith throughout her life in her unselfish, thoughtful and caring ways.
