Mary L Ewing

Mary Louise Ewing, 86, of New Albany, passed away on February 18, 2023. She was born August 23, 1936 in Brighton, Missouri to the late George and Mary Chapman. She was a 1954 graduate of Granite City High School in Illinois and graduated from Millikin University in 1958. She earned her Masters of Arts from the University of Illinois in 1961. Mary Lou married David L. Ewing on January 27, 1962, and they spent 61 wonderful years together. Mary Lou was a teacher and mother. She spent much of her time leading Bible studies and volunteering at church. She will be remembered for her love of family, faith in Christ, compassionate heart, kindness towards others, and strength in adversity. Mary Lou is survived by her husband, David Leland Ewing; children Jennifer (Steve) Ohm, and Mark (Kathleen) Ewing; grandchildren, Sara (Zack) Dempsey, Joshua Ohm, Rachel Ohm, Lauren (Justin) Salamone, and Linden Ewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Wiggenhorn and her brother, Robert Chapman. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio, 43230.
