Jennifer Byers McCloskey was beloved by everyone who ever met her. Her love of life transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. Jenny was generous, kind, funny and beautiful on the inside and out. She brought a bounty of that beauty & creativity to everything she did. She was sought by many for her fantastic eye for fashion and design. Even when she didn’t feel well, she always wanted to laugh and to help others. Jenny was always up for a good time. She brought the life to the party. She loved music -and margaritas -and the occasional prank phone call. Jenny loved traveling with friends and family to beautiful sunny places: Les Cheneaux, Nantucket and the Florida Keys were her favorite destinations. She found joy in the traveling and shopping. Jenny grew up in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from the University of Lynchburg (formerly Lynchburg College). She met her husband in German Village and they eventually moved to Bexley, Ohio. She was a member of TWIG3. She was an active member of various clubs including Rocky Fork, Columbus Country Club, Les Cheneaux Yacht Club, Ocean Reef Club and The Columbus Club. Jenny’s husband Jeff & her son Jack were her world. She was blessed with a large close-knit family.
She leaves behind her Mother Nancy (Dunn) Byers; Father George Byers III; Sisters Mary (Will) Byers Vorys and Jessy Byers; Grandfather George “Buddy” Byers; Aunts Lynn (Byers) Kauffman, Beth (Byers) Sells, and Diane Dunn; Uncles Gardner Dunn (Yvette), Jim Dunn (Karen); Beloved Cousins Allie Dunn Calodney, Barbara Dunn Cavalaris, Jason Dunn, Lariana Dunn, Russell Dunn, Andrew Dunn, Gardner Dunn, Garrett Dunn, George Kauffman, Ben Kauffman, Amy Kauffman, Katie Sells, Meghan Craver and Kate Jung; and many, many beloved Nieces and Nephews. She was Predeceased by Brother George Byers IV; Uncles Robert Dunn, Andy Dunn; Grandparents Donald Dunn, Mary Altmaier Dunn, and Diane Noland Byers.
A memorial service will be held at the 3:30pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at First Congregational Church, 444 East Broad St. Following, the family will be receiving friends at the Columbus Club, 181 E. Broad St from 4:30-7pm. Arrangements by Schoedinger Northeast. Please share a memory and condolence for the family at www.schoedinger.com.
