Jim was born on June 30th, 1965, in Framingham, MA to Dorothy A. Becker (Siehr) and John A. Becker. He was one of nine siblings. When Jim was sixteen his parents and several siblings moved to Ocean City, NJ where he attended and graduated Ocean City High School. He went on to attend vocational school where his lifelong roofing career began.
It was in New Jersey where Jim met his wife, Maria. Upon moving to Winslow Township, where they resided for 20 years, they raised their two boys Justin and Jared and began their 29-year journey. In 2014 they relocated to New Albany, OH but never missed an opportunity to return to their NJ roots.
Jim loved to host family holidays, cookie baking weekend, teasing his nieces and nephews, spending as much time as possible with his boys and traveling. Maria and Jim could often be found posted on a beach - Jim’s happy place.
During his time in Winslow, Jim was actively involved with his children’s school and sports, notably as a coach of the Winslow Township Little League organization. He truly loved coaching not only Justin and Jared but all of their friends as well. He never allowed the desire to win outweigh the fun of the game.
Jim was an avid sports fan with a special place in his heart for Boston teams, he once even fulfilled his dream of playing ball at Fenway Park. Although he carries a strong love for sports his true passion was his commitment to his family. Jim never allowed distance to affect his relationships often traveling to any and all family events as well as attending monthly zoom meetings with his siblings.
As much as Jim loved so many, so many loved him in return. Jim left an enormous legacy for the people he impacted through not only his family but his work, friendships, and coaching. Jim filled every room with laughter, but despite his whimsical nature he never hesitated to step up, lend a hand, or protect those he cared for.
Jim is predeceased by his mother and father. He is survived by his wife Maria, two sons Justin and Jared, daughter-in-law Victoria, eight siblings Vic, John, Dottie Ann, Patty, Cathy, Ricky, Barb and Suzy, thirty nieces and nephews as well as their children. Jim without a doubt cherished every moment with each and every single one of them.
It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we mourn the passing of Jim. How lucky we are to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.
