Jade Alexandra Smith was born January 22, 1998 in Columbus, OH to Jessica Nichols and Jonathan Smith. She graduated valedictorian from St. Francis Desales High School in 2015. Her academic excellence earned her a full scholarship to the Ohio State University. While attending OSU, Jade volunteered to work in Honduras during the spring of 2017, where she helped care for over 700 patients in 3 days. This was an experience that she was forever changed by and so very proud of. She graduated from OSU with a BS Pre-med degree in 2019.
Jade’s academic success continued and she was accepted into the Ohio State Medical School in the spring of 2020. She had begun her studies but had not yet decided if she would choose to pursue a career working as a Cosmetic Surgeon or a Reproductive Endocrinologist.
Jade loved to sing, dance, and longboard. She was super close to her mom and sisters and enjoyed family time. Whenever she did not have plans, her beloved dog Scruffy Man had her heart and hugs. Jade could be described using three words: beautiful, caring, and smart. Her beauty was undeniable. There was never a time she entered a room and people did not notice her beauty. So much so, everyone would complement her the same every time… “Wow, you’re so pretty.” And in true Jade fashion, she would humbly hit you with a smile you could not forget while allowing you to see the most gorgeous dimples and say “thank you.”
Jade was one of the most caring people you could ever meet. She was always so concerned with everyone and everything. She never cared to see anyone hurt or treated badly. She would try her best to make sure she was available if any of her family members needed help, big or small. Sympathizing and empathizing with others was her superpower.
Last but not least... Smart. Jade was so smart and as high as an achiever as they come. She could effortlessly make the most difficult academic task look so easy. No record of failure, moving through school as if it were nothing. Truly unmatched, simply perfect.
Jade was preceded in death by her great-grandmother Marijane Isengale and her grandmother Jacque Nichols.
She is survived by her mom and dad, her loving sisters Jazlyn and Jaeleah, her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Arrangements have been entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST FUNERAL HOME.
