Debra Sue Willet, affectionately known as “Debbie,” age 71, of Gahanna, peacefully passed away on November 12, 2024. She was born on March 25, 1953, a beloved daughter to the late Hebert P. Zeller, Patricia Zeller, and Don Van Meter Sr. In addition to her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by her siblings, Diane Kanode and Jeff Zeller.
Debbie was an avid sports fan with a particular love for her Ohio State Buckeyes and NASCAR, always cheering passionately for her favorite driver, “24.” She took joy in attending races and games, sharing these moments with loved ones, and creating lasting memories. Her enthusiasm for sports reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life.
Growing up, Debbie’s life was filled with love for her family, her children, and hobbies that enriched her days. Whether it was through her career, family gatherings, or special trips with her sister, she made every moment meaningful and unforgettable. With a smile that could light up a room.
Debbie is survived by her loving children, Mandy (Frank) McFarland and Chelsea Willet (Zo Hairston); cherished grandchildren, Rilee, Dylan, Cyanna, Gia, and Zaine; her life partner Jeff Jones and father of her children Chuck Willet, her siblings, Beth (Eric) Beal, Donald Van Meter, and Todd (Sandy) Zeller; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
Friends may gather at Schoedinger Northeast Funeral Home (1051 E Johnstown Rd.) on Friday, November 15th from 10 AM to 12 PM. The funeral service will begin at 12 PM, with interment to follow at Mifflin Cemetery.
