Although I havent seen Brooke over the last twenty years, I have fond memories of him. He was always a very hard worker and passionate about his family and his work. He will be missed by many of his longtime friends that had the chance to know him. 
I will be making a pledge to the Capitol Square Foundation in his honor. 
My heart gos out to his family at this time of sorrow.

Beth and I are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Brooke.  Brooke and I entered the world of independent lobbying around the same time and I always found him to be friendly, kind, gracious, funny, and always willing to talk.  In short, he was one of the true Gentlemen Lobbyist.  Brooke's career spanned decades and his legacy will be the other friendly, kind, gracious, and funny lobbyist he's nurtured at Governmental Policy Group that will carry on his legacy.  God Speed Brooke, you will be missed........

So sorry to hear of Brooke's passing, he was a man who always had a great sense of humor and a positive outlook on life.  He will be missed by many who knew him from the statehouse and activities such as golf.  Condolences to his family and friends.  I always liked to see him at the Statehouse for a pick me up when stuff becames stressful.  Brooke will always bring a smile to me from the old days!

Heidi and Family - My condoences to you on the loss of a true friend and all around terrific person in Brooke. He was such a loyal person, knowledgeable, smart, always willing to help others, and tenacious in supporting the causes he held so dear. From his days at Ohio State to his highly successful career at the Statehouse, he had such natural talent and ability and loved people. I was fortunate to have been a friend, and will miss him quite a bit. Brooke was "old school" in that relationships with him mattered and was always happy to help when called upon. I knew his Mother and Sister, both gems of people like Brooke, and so dedicated to others like Brooke. May God grant Brooke peace and may his memory be eternal.

Brooke was such a gentleman. He’s forgotten more about lobbying than I’ll ever learn. 

He was always glad to see you and the first with a “hey there!” and he meant it.  I remember when I first started my own firm, Brooke called me with a referral. He knew I had just started out and was kind enough to pass on a possible new client.   He didn’t have to do that but he was very thoughtful. 

My deepest condolences to his family, friends and to his colleagues at his firm.   He will be missed.

A gentleman who cared deeply about the betterment of the state. His friendship was true; his commitment was real. 
I will miss his kindness, his laugh, and his vast historical knowledge. And of course, I’ll miss his sense of humor.

Wendi and I are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend, Brooke. We first met him in the mid 80’s and he showed us nothing but love, kindness and guidance. What a kind hardworking and genuine man! I’ll miss hearing his welcoming “Hey, Toddy!” He certainly left our community better than he found it! The Bergdoll’s are better having known him. Sending all our love and prayers to family and friends!

While I am unable to attend, I wanted to express my condolences to the Cheney family for their loss. Brooke was one of the first lobbyists I ever spoke to when I was an aide and he treated me with respect and dignity that is not always received. He was a kind man who left an indelible mark on Cap Square. May his memory live forever in the marble halls of the Statehouse.

I was a boyhood friend of Brooke’s in Shelby Ohio in the 60’s and 70’s.  We lived 4 houses apart and were together every day.  The Cheney family was an integral part of my childhood.  When I moved to Columbus we spent every weekend together as young couples.  I was best man at his first wedding.  We are shocked and saddened by this news.  Brooke was a true friend and we only have fun and positive memories of him.  We will think of him often and smile.

Dwayne and I were so very sad to learn of Brooke's unexpected passing. Brooke was a friend and colleague for nearly 30 years.  While I learned by watching him at the Ohio statehouse in the early days of my career,  Dwayne and I enjoyed his friendship while visiting with he and Heidi at the New Albany Country Club. We will miss you friend. RIP Brooke. Heidi we hold you in our hearts.

Our deepest condolences on the passing of your beloved Brooke. He was one of the kind, thoughtful “good guys” around the statehouse. Our interactions with him, both in government and politics were memorable because of who Brooke was and how he conducted himself both personally and professionally. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working with and around him.

Sarah and I were so sad to hear about Brooke. I’ve worked with him for 30 years and we enjoyed seeing him at the club.  I loved hearing his stories about the old days. He’s a legend at the Statehouse but more importantly he was a legendary great guy with a kind soul. RIP Brooke.
