Betty Walker

Betty L. Walker, age 90, of Gahanna, Ohio, peacefully moved on to her eternal heavenly home Tuesday, May 28, 2024. She was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Linden McKinley, Class of 1952. In 1954, she married the love of her life, Raymond Walker. Together they started a family and raised their children in Gahanna, Ohio. She was a member of the Gahanna Community Congregational Church for over 60 years, serving the Lord in any way she was called to do. In her younger days, she was active with the Christian Childrens League and enjoyed bowling in the women’s day league at Gahanna Lanes, square dancing with the Family Ties, vacationing at St. Pete’s Beach and going on cruises. She was a member of the Gahanna Senior Center where she loved taking calligraphy, Tai Chi, and other classes. She also attended the Gillie Senior Center where she line danced. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Raymond Walker, her son Raymond Walker Jr., parents Leafa and Norman Bibler. She will continue to be remembered and loved by her sister Norma (John) Weber, sons David (Peggy) Walker, Rick (Janet) Walker, daughter Sandy (Tonn) Sargent, grandsons Joshua Sargent, Jacob (Elizabeth) Sargent, Christopher Walker, great-grandson Mac Sargent as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Friends and family will be received at Schoedinger Northeast, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH on Monday, June 3, from 4PM-7PM. A funeral service will be held for Betty the following morning, Tuesday, June 4, at 10AM at Gahanna Community Congregational Church, 470 Havens Corners Rd, Gahanna, OH. She will be laid to rest at Mifflin Cemetery next to her beloved husband immediately following services. All are invited back to the church at the conclusion of services for a luncheon to share memories and stories of Betty.
