William "Bill" Erwin Martin II, age 47, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Mega SportsPlex RBC, 625 Kinzie Lane Rainbow City, AL 35906. A celebration of life will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Taivas Farm, 1713 Green Valley Road Glencoe, AL 35905.
Bill was a graduate of Gadsden High School and Jacksonville State University. He also played soccer at the University of Montevallo. Bill devoted over 25 years of his life to soccer in Etowah County surrounding areas. In his free time, he ran both EYSA and Rush competitive soccer programs. He helped to grow competitive soccer all over Northeast Alabama. He worked as a Corporate Development Officer for Carefund and as a Real Estate Broker for EliteState Realty.
He is survived his wife, Madelene Baltz Martin; daughter, Bailee Elise Martin; son, William John Martin; mother, Teresa Bertella Martin; brother, Daniel Wesley Martin (Brooke); father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Karen Baltz; brother-in-law, Robert John Baltz (Audrey); nephews, Liam Wesley Martin, and Reiner John Baltz; and niece. Rowan Caroline Martin.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Erwin Martin I.
Bill was the life of every party and loved by all who knew him. He was a husband, father, son, brother, uncle (pepe), cousin, nephew, coach, and friend to many.
