Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter for Terry Chad Kilgore, Attorney at Law, 38, of Gadsden, who passed away on September 27, 2023. Burial will follow at Mount Pisgah Cemetery, located at 7240 Tabor Rd., Gadsden. The Rev. Carl M. Saxton, II will officiate. Graveside interment will be conducted by Rev. Larry Perkins. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of the services.
Chad Kilgore was born on August 26, 1985, in Etowah County, Alabama, to Terry Edward Kilgore and Tena Noah Kilgore Beauford. After graduating high school from Lighthouse Christian Academy in 2004, he attended Gadsden State Community College, earning an Associate’s Degree in 2007, and Jacksonville State University, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in 2010. He went on to attend Birmingham School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree in 2015. He passed the AL State Bar examination in May 2018 and began practicing law in his hometown of Gadsden.
Along with his love for the law, Chad had an equal love for politics. He worked on several local and statewide campaigns, providing professionalism and dedication to various candidates. He was elected in 2014 to serve as a member of the Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee, representing Baldwin County. In 2018, he was appointed to serve as a member of the Alabama Republican Party Executive Committee, representing Etowah County. Chad’s impact in both the legal and political worlds will always be felt and never forgotten. He enjoyed travel, specifically to the beach.
He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Edward Kilgore; mother, Tena Noah Kilgore Beauford; grandfather, Charles Harold Kilgore; grandmother, Eva Ruth Taylor; grandfather, Harold Noah; and grandmother, Betty Noah.
Chad leaves behind many special friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Jay Stover, Jack Stover, Jeff Overstreet, Mack Butler, Jim Zeigler, and Gary Park. Honorary pallbearers will be the Circuit Court Judges and District Court Judges of Etowah County and other members of the Etowah County legal community.
The family would like to thank Cesar Fernandez, MD and staff, Amedisys Hospice and nurse, Brittany Ellison, and many friends for their special care and love.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Chad’s memory can be made to the Etowah County Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30 – 1:00 p.m. at the church, located at 156 S. 9th St., Gadsden, AL 35901.
