Born on January 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Marvin F. Ratledge and the late Vera George Ratledge.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Loretta Lyles Ratledge.
His daughters, Daphne Ratledge and Ashleigh (Brian) Moore.
His grandson that was like a son to him, Jordan Ratledge.
His grandchildren, Hayleigh (Nick) Gibbs, Jordan Ratledge, Hayden Wain, Cody (Krista) Brewton, Dustin Ratledge.
His great grandchildren, McKenzie, LaCota and Hudson Gibbs.
He is survived by his sisters, JoAnne (Bobby) Mayben, Linda Reed.
He was preceded in death by his brother Mike Ratledge.
Ronald was a 1963 graduate of Gadsden High School
He served in the US Army and was a Master Machinist, graduating from Gadsden State.
He was a member of Noccalula Masonic Lodge #913.
Ronald retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 36 years of employment.
He loved buying old cars and trucks and repairing them and sometimes selling them.
Ronald was the owner of BAMA CUTLERY for many years and was a vendor at Gun and Knife Shows.
Ronald was the owner of JMR SALES until his death. He along with Loretta and Jordan, traveled many states selling Amateur Radio Equipment at ARRL HAMFESTS.
Through JMR SALES, Ronald, Loretta and Jordan met many people that became like family to them. Every Hamfest that they were a part of since the start of JMR SALES in 2010, brought a multitude of enjoyment and always GOOD memories. They were blessed with the BEST friends
and customers throughout the years.
As Ronald had wanted it to be, there was no funeral service and his body was cremated.
