Mark Edward Parrish, 63, passed away in his home surrounded by family on September 27, 2021, following a brief illness. Mark was born December 5, 1957 in Gadsden, Alabama. A memorial visitation for Mark will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Collier Butler Funeral Home. Per family requests, Masks are required.
A life-long resident of the Gadsden area, Mark graduated from Glencoe High School in 1976. He attended Samford University for his undergraduate degree and graduated from Samford University’s McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 1981. Mark was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle. Mark loved his family and was everyone’s “favorite”.
Mark was a registered pharmacist at several local pharmacies and worked as a pharmacist at Gadsden Regional Medical Center where he retired with many years of service. Mark was a caring and dedicated pharmacist who not only cared deeply for those he served but mentored many young pharmacists in their careers. Mark was known for his big heart and selfless acts of service. Mark was saved at a young age and baptized at First Baptist Church of Glencoe.
Mark’s influence and impact were widely felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was optimistic, charming, and lived life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed though his love and presence will be felt forever by his friends and family.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, James and Helen Parrish; brother, James (Jimmy) Parrish; in-laws, Joe & Martha Nabors.
Mark is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Parrish; his favorite daughter, Christine (David) Palmer; his favorite son, Stephen Parrish; his favorite sisters, Kim (Alan) Gibbs and Tammy (Jim) Moore; sister-in-law Angie (Grahl) Keener; brother-in law, Joe (Debbie) Nabors; Pamela Dover Parrish mother of his children, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
