He was born in Etowah County where he lived his entire life.
There will be a graveside service in Williams Southside Cemetery, Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. Officiating minister will be Dr. Dennis Robinson.
Marcus was preceded in death by his son, Erik David Guy Silvey; his parents, Herbert Pinkney and Myrtle Ruth Adams Silvey; two brothers, Herbert Eugene Silvey and Donald Guy Silvey,
Survivors include two sons, Daniel James Silvey, Australia and Evan Marcus Silvey, Gadsden; sisters, Jane (Dennis) Robinson and Glenda Annette Silvey, both of Gadsden and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
“Mark”, as he was known to family and friends, graduated from Gaston High School in 1970 and worked roofing and painting trades until he became disabled in his 60’s. He was a friend to everyone and will be greatly missed by his family.
