Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday-November 4, 2011 at Collier-Butler Chapel for our beloved Jerry Reeves who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday-November 1, 2011. Bro. Tom Holland will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler is directing.
Jerry was born in Gadsden on June 15, 1936. He graduated with the Class of 1956 from Gadsden High School. While still in high school he volunteered to serve with the Alabama National Guard in Phenix City, Alabama. He served with the Guard for more than 30 years and retired as a Lt. Col. He was a life-long patriot and the United States military was always near and dear to him.
Jerry was a member of the Rainbow Church of Christ and handled the tape ministry for many years. He was a long-time resident of Birmingham where he was co-owner of Traffic Products Inc and had clients and friends in numerous states. He returned to live in Gadsden in 1997 to assist in caring for his brother-in-law Tim Gentry, whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his wife Peggy; parents Crate and Earline Reeves; brothers-in-law; Tim Gentry, Jimmie Johnson and Kelly Cardwell.
He is survived by his son, Brian, Birmingham, sisters, Martha Johnson, Marilyn Gentry, Sherry Cardwell; nephews, Jim Johnson, Kerry Lee Johnson, Kyle (Dana) Johnson, Alan (Ann) Gentry, Mark (Nancy) Cardwell; nieces are Karla Santiago, Jennifer (Jeff) Whitehorn and Lynda Cardwell. He is also survived by Tom Sanor, business partner, who was like a brother to him.
Pallbearers will be Brian Reeves, Jim “Jet” Johnson, Mark Cardwell, Alan Gentry, Mark Gentry, Eric Johnson, Tom Sanor and Bill Talbot.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kerry Lee Johnson and Kyle Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
