James Harold Rogers, age 93, of Gadsden, AL went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 10, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at the Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Bruce Word will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Mildred Louise Rogers; parents, Arnold and Laura Rogers; father and mother-in-law, Oliver and Omie Johnson; brothers, Allen Rogers and Charles Rogers; sister, Inell Pike; brother-in-law, Harold Cornutt; son-in-law, Tommy Denson; and grandson, Jason Snyder.
He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Denson and Gay (Frank) Wood; son, Keith Rogers; grandchildren, Holly (Tim) McGinnis, Heath Denson, Justin Snyder and Bradley Rogers; great grandchildren, Tiffany McGinnis and Brittany McGinnis, and Trey (Taylor) Snyder; great-great granddaughter, Camden Snyder; sister-in-law, Betty Cornutt; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rogers was a 1948 graduate of Hokes Bluff High School. He was a carpenter. He worked for Sears Decorator Store and Copelands. Harold loved riding his motorcycle, working on lawn mowers and cutting grass even in his 90s. He really loved life, He loved going to church until he was not able to anymore.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Enhabit Hospice and to Coosa Valley Health Care for the wonderful care shown to Mr. Rogers.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Wood, Tim McGinnis, Justin Snyder and Trey Snyder.
Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Denson and Jaden Amberson.
The family will accept friends from 12:00PM until 2:00PM prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday.
