Darin was a lifelong member of Dwight Baptist Church. He was an avid animal lover, but all of his cats had a special place in his heart. He loved being outside with his hands in the dirt. His dedication to flowers won him the Gadsden Beautification Award several times. Darin's favorite holiday was Christmas where he went above and beyond to decorate every room. He began his band adventure at General Forrest Middle School where he played the trumpet. He continued that to Emma Sansom High School where he graduated in 1984. Continuing his education, he also graduated from Auburn University in 1989. He later taught Music Appreciation at Emma Sansom and was largely involved with assisting the "Rebel" band under the direction of Russ Waits. Go Rebels!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Etowah County Humane Society and Dwight Baptist Church.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at UAB and Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
