Mr. Elrod was a 1978 graduate of Alexandria High School and earned his associate degree at Gadsden State Community College. He worked in the finance industry for 30 years.
He was an avid Alabama Fan, but his most favorite thing was being a father and grandfather.
Mr. Elrod was preceded in death by his father, Ray Elrod and brother, Gerald Wayne Elrod.
Survivors left to cherish his memory is his mother, Mrs. Minnie Elrod, daughters, Bailey and Corleigh Elrod; grandson, Easton Ray Chastain; sister, Angie (Barry) Broadwell; nephew, Peyton Broadwell; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many other beloved family.
Honorary pallbearers will be Burnie Stedham, Dennis Twigg, Bryan Hammonds, Andy Cole, Gary Goode and Steve Findley.
