A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at the Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Johnny Bennefield will officiate. Special music will be provided by Gina Bennefield Ryder, Janice Long, Arley Nelson, and Bruce Hill. Burial will follow the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Attalla, AL. Collier-Butler Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. The family will accept friends from 10:00AM until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Jimmy attended Hanceville High School. He was a member of Hopewell Road Church of God in Hanceville. He retired from Averitt Trucking Company and also served our country in the National Guard and U.S. Army. Mr. Bennefield loved to watch Alabama football. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dimple Bonds Bennefield; father, James Garvie Bennefield; and son, James “Jim” Noah Bennefield, Jr.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Shirley Espey Bennefield; daughter, Gina Bennefield (Johnny) Ryder; step daughter, Teri Martin (Bruce) Hill; stepsons, David Bullock, Buster Bullock, and Danny (Maria) Bullock; grandchildren, Nathan (Brittany) Ryder, Thomas Ryder, Addie Ballew, and Austin Bennefield; step grandchildren, Brad (Alexandria) Hill, Kaley Hill (Ross) Cody, and Brant Bullock; step great-grandchildren, Bennet Cody, Kollyns Cody, Brody Bullock, and Storm Bullock; brother, Johnny (Terri) Bennefield, sisters, Judy (Dennis) Wilson, Kathryn (Wayne) Sandlin, and Glenda (Bobby) Perry; and numerous niece and Nephews.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Bennefield, Danny Bullock, John Nathan, Thomas Ryder, and Joshua Bennefield.
