Jackson David Royal, of Mountain Brook, AL, passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the age of 91. A graveside service for family will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024. Rev. L. Dale Butler will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Dave was born in Opelika, Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in business administration. While attending Auburn Dave met Jo Ann Whorton, his great love. They were married shortly after graduation in April of 1955. Dave began his career with Moore Handley in Montgomery, Alabama, and then in Jackson, Mississippi where Dave’s daughter Karen was born. Dave and his family moved to Birmingham, Alabama and he spent the last forty-four years of his career with Wurzberg, Inc.
After Dave retired, he spent his time between homes in Mountain Brook, Alabama and Lake Martin.
He is survived by his loving Wife of 69 years, Jo; one daughter, Karen (Mike) Griffith; two grandchildren, Caitlyn (Andrew) Bellenger and Jackson Griffith; and two great grandchildren, Virginia Bellenger and Liza Bellenger.
