Harold Denson Roden

Harold Denson Roden, age 75, of Wellington, Alabama passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022. He was born March 1, 1947. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Ronny Moore will officiate. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. The family will accept friends from 1:00PM until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Harold was a 1966 graduate of Gaston High School. He was a huge fan of Alabama Football and loved classic cars. He worked in machine shops until his retirement. Harold worked at Alabama Tool, Southern Tool, Tate's Machine Shop and Laser Fabrication and Machine.

He had a work ethic that was unmatched and loved nothing more than to be surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. If you knew him you loved him and he made sure you were loved as well.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Pearl Roden; daughter, Gina Roden; daughter-in-law Shelli Roden; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Gail Roden; his father-in-law, Orbie Thacker and his life long best friend James Lyles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Thacker Roden; children, Sandra (Blu) Gowens and Craig Roden; sister, Faye (William) Whitehead; grandchildren, Emily (Spencer) McCord, Katie (Kyle) Coppock, Rachel (Dylan) Brown, Kayla Gowens, Tyler Roden and Jack Roden; great-grandchildren, Nora Herman, Drake Herman, Wylie McCord, Sadie Brown, Cash McCord and Cobain McCord; several brother and sister-in-laws, and nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff of Amedisys Hospice Care and Comfort Care Home Health during his time of illness. Also, his longtime physician Dr. Harper.
