Born on December 28, 1949, Greg proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972, a service that shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong sense of duty and honor. After his military service, Greg enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an electrician including many years of dedicated work at the Anniston Army Depot as Director of Public Works and providing residential electrical service many in the Gadsden, Alabama area.
A faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Greg took great pride in his work caring for the Lebanon Cemetery, where he devoted time and effort to ensure the grounds were kept with the utmost respect.
He is survived by his his daughter, Brooke Reeves Vining (Joey), and grandsons, Reeves and Patton, his son, Tyler Reeves (Gina), his grandson, Braxton, his granddaughter, Anna Reece. He is also survived by his sisters, Helen Gibbs and Elaine Clements, his brother, Vandall Lipscomb, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and several lifelong friends who were like family to him.
Greg's generosity, kindness, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be remembered forever. He touched the lives of many, and his legacy of loyalty, service, and devotion will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
Greg Reeves will forever be remembered in the hearts of his loved ones, and his spirit will continue to live on in those he leaves behind.
A visitation for Greg will be held Friday, November 22, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.
